CBS buys CNET for $1.8 billion

Yeah, but will Buzztown be the same? CBS Corporation purchased CNET Networks for $1.8 billion today, giving CBS an even bigger footprint on the Web. The acquisition includes CNET, ZDNet, TV.com, and CNET News.com. The CNET website is home to the popular Buzz Out Loud podcast, and other audio and video properties.

CNET is headquartered in San Francisco, while CBS' home is in New York.
